Working towards the SLSGB Nipper Lifesaver Pathway: Nipper 1, Nipper 2, Nipper 3 and Nipper 4
The Children’s pathway introduces young people to the world of surf lifesaving through fun, safe and engaging activities designed to build confidence in and around the water.
Known as the Nipper Lifesaver Pathway, this programme is the first exciting step into lifesaving for children aged 8–13 years.
Nipper training is every Sunday from 10:00 to 12:30. We have changing rooms in the club but they get crowded quickly so either arrive early or arrive in wetsuits ready to go!
You should bring:
Swimming costume/trunks
Wetsuit (boots, gloves and hood recommended when cold)
Towel
Sun cream
Warm layer for after the session
Club-provided: bright identifying rash vest
Contact the Nipper/Youth Training Officer Katy Herdman at: nippers@dwlsc.co.uk to register interest for your child.
We offer free taster sessions; you MUST complete a taster session membership with SLSGB on JustGo BEFORE attending your session.
After that you must pay personal membership with SLSGB and DWLSC before your child can begin training.
SLSGB membership is a one-off payment of £36 a year
